Manchester United are weighing up a move for Eduardo Camavinga after they sign Jadon Sancho. United have been alerted to the fact Rennes are willing to sell now rather than risk him becoming a free agent.
United have had transfer links with the 18-year-old before, but their pursuit could soon become more serious. As it stands, though, United’s interest in the Frenchman remains in its infancy.
Camavinga has already enjoyed significant success, despite his young age. Indeed, he made his Rennes debut at the age of 16 and has made become a regular France Under-21 international.
He has also made an outing for the senior team when he joined the squad last September and October. The Mail on Sunday adds that United have made a midfield addition a priority after missing out on Jude Bellingham.
Old Trafford chiefs see Camavinga as a ‘more than able’ alternative to the now-England international.
The Ligue 1 side are willing to cash in now instead of losing their star man for free next summer.
Speaking earlier this year, Camavinga’s agent confirmed that he has received plenty of interest in his client.
Jonathan Barnett said: “Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones.
“I mean top, top clubs. We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age.”
