Real Madrid are reportedly well aware that Manchester United target Raphael Varane “has a better offer from elsewhere”.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be looking to add another defender to his squad even though Eric Bailly extended his deal recently. Villarreal’s Pau Torres and Lille’s Sven Botman have both been mentioned as targets for United but Varane is understood to be the man United want.
Real Madrid star Varane is one player who is available this summer. His contract runs out next summer, but there is growing uncertainty over whether he will extend.
The Manchester Evening News claimed recently that the France international feels there is a discrepancy between his salary offer and his colleagues’ wages.
Therefore, the newspaper adds that United and Liverpool are a number of clubs holding ‘exploratory’ talks with the 28-year-old’s entourage.
And now Marca via the Daily Express says Los Blancos are seemingly accepting of the fact Varane has had his head turned and will not sign an extension with the club.
Real are apparently aware Varane has a better offer on the table than the money they are prepared to offer him. The Spanish outlet though does not state whether the club in question is United.
The Mirror reported recently that United were pondering a £40m offer. Now though Marca insists Real would only be willing to accept a fee of between £51.6m and £60.2m.
