Manchester United are seemingly the best placed club to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with one report providing the latest on the Lazio star’s future.
According to reports last month, the Red Devils are making progress in a deal for the central midfielder. Italian source il Corriere dello Sport claim he will cost £66million.
More recently, it has been claimed Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri is expecting Milinkovic-Savic to leave this summer. While this would be a major blow, it would give Sarri plenty of funds to improve other parts of his team.
Juventus were previously rivalling Manchester United for the 27-year-old. But they look set to pull out of the pursuit to capture Paul Pogba on a free transfer instead.
Italian outlet Il Tempo provide an update on the state of play with regards to Milinkovic-Savic, as cited by Sport Witness.
It seems United are the team pushing the most to sign him. That’s because they are the only potential suitor to put a bid on the table.

The Old Trafford club have offered £46.7million for Milinkovic-Savic, who represents Serbia on the international stage.
But this will not be enough to secure a deal as Lazio now want £76.5m for their prized asset.
Of course, this is within United’s range as they have spent more than this sum on several occasions.
But club chiefs will be wary of doing it again after the troublesome spells involving Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
While United are in a commanding position when it comes to Milinkovic-Savic, they could end up walking away from the signing if Lazio hold out for such a large fee.
