After winning the Europa Conference League, AS Roma are thinking about strengthening their squad ahead of next season.

The Serie A club will be sure to allow Jose Mourinho dip into the transfer market in a bid to improve the squad to achieve greater things in the future.

It is reported that one area of weakness that Mourinho wants to strengthen is right-back, and one player being suggested is Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as per Gazzetta dello Sport page 10 (H/t Sport Witness).

GdS claim ‘general manager Tiago Pinto’s interest in the right-back is there’. The Italian publication adds that Wan-Bissaka ‘has sufficient qualities to manage both phases of the game’, which we found a little funny given his constant struggle to do anything noteworthy in the final third.

This claim from Italy backs up a report from The Sun earlier this month suggesting that Mourinho wanted Wan-Bissaka at Roma and that Crystal Palace was also keen.

United would demand €30m for Wan-Bissaka’s signature, which would represent a loss on the player, but sometimes you have to accept that you made the wrong investment and move on.
