United are looking to perform a major overhaul to usher in their latest new chapter in the perfect way. They have made mistakes both on and off the pitch in recent years and need to get their latest project right.
We are obviously after new signings in all areas of the pitch, with a new attacker one such priority, and Brazil international Antony is one reported target for the Red Devils.
According to former goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who is a regular Eredivisie viewer, the 22-year-old would be a “great addition” at Old Trafford.
“Antony is a top player,” the pundit told Football Insider. “He is strong, good on the ball and can cut in and shoot from distance. He can play down the middle as well but he is most effective off the left-hand side. A two-footed player who gets goals and assists.”
“He has been a big part of what Ajax have achieved in the last 18 months. I have watched him closely covering the Eredivisie for a broadcaster.
“He is certainly a player who would flourish in the Premier League, he will not score 30 goals a season but he will contribute goals and assists. He is direct.
“If Ten Hag is to have a huge overhaul at Old Trafford Antony is the sort of player the fans would love. I think Antony would be a great addition.”

Antony moved to Ajax from Sao Paolo in his native Brazil in the summer of 2020. He has since made 79 appearances, scoring 22 goals and assisting 20 others.
However, it is this season where he has really found his feet, with 10 goals and 12 assists.
He would therefore prove a massively exciting signing for United amid their current options up front.
Jadon Sancho, the big-money left-winger signing from Borussia Dortmund, has yet to really hit his stride.
However, Ten Hag could yet pair Sancho with Antony in what could be a promising front line.
What is clear, though, is that Man Utd need to assess their recruitment options carefully to avoid mistakes of the past and advance back into the Champions League.
