Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is reportedly closing in on a move to Newcastle United.

Sources revealed to the Manchester Evening News that the 25-year-old was in Newcastle for talks on Wednesday.

It’s understood that discussions have taken place over a season-long loan. However, a permanent switch to Tyneside could still be on tha cards.

The MEN revealed earlier this week Newcastle were still interested in Henderson as they look to bolster Eddie Howe’s squad.

The Magpies held talks over a January deadline day move Henderson. However, the move collapsed when incumbent first choice Martin Dubravka rejected a move to United in a proposed swap deal.

Ajax were also looking at the England stopper in January but incoming boss Erik ten Hag has already decided on keeping David de Gea as his No.1

Henderson has only played for United three times this term and has not featured once in the Premier League.
