Incoming Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag admits there is nothing preventing him bringing any of his Ajax players to the club this summer.

The 52-year-old will step into the Old Trafford hotseat when interim boss Ralf Rangnick moves aside at the end of the campaign. The experiment of bringing in a temporary manager failed to reap the rewards. And, after nine years of struggling to find a successor to Alex Ferguson, hopes are now pinned on Ten Hag.

A squad revamp is likely, with several high-profile players tipped to depart. And there will be new faces at the club before the start of 2022-2023.

There are several areas of the pitch that need addressing. Ten Hag will have his own ideas about recruitment.

He has been tipped to raid his current club. Antony, Sebastien Haller and Jurrien Timber have all been linked with a switch to the north-west giants.

And, while giving little away about the personnel involved, the former Utrecht chief confessed he is within his rights to sign Ajax players.

“There is no agreement in place that would exclude me from taking players to Manchester United,” he said in an interview with WeTalkAjax.

“Which Ajax players are interesting? I have very good players here, but that’s a non-issue.”

Ten Hag will have knowledge of his Ajax players and what they might bring to United. But other names are also being linked and may be better suited to the task awaiting the new boss.
