If Paul Pogba is unlikely to play for Manchester United again this season, it’s time to accept that the Frenchman has made his final appearance for the club.
Like me, all united fans, excited by Pogba’s return to the club in 2016, thinking that he was coming back home to make a real impression on English football.
But his re-signing in 2016 has been an enormous failure. It was meant to signal United’s return to the summit of English football, but it was only false hope as he turned out to be a luxury footballer.
As we put it earlier this week, in a column about the departing Frenchman, Pogba was the fabulous decorative finish to a grand house which United forgot to lay the foundations to…
While blaming Pogba for all United’s faults is unfair he hardly helps himself. His reaction to the fans over Easter Weekend suggests he feels harshly treated in this regard, but he could probably demonstrate a little empathy in this regard.
Pogba is set to leave United at the end of the season when his contract expires, so the situation suggests that he has played his final game for the club.
