The RB Leipzig midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford with Ralf Rangnick an admirer.
United are prioritising signing a midfielder in the summer to help strengthen their squad. The Reds are currently working hard to secure a deal for Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips.
Despite playing for their rivals, United are hoping that they will be able to fight off competition for the England international’s services. Adams is another player that has been linked with the Reds having previously worked under Ralf Rangnick and has made 31 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
Speaking to ESPN, Adams highlighted his plans for the future. He said: “I’ve had some amazing moments in my development at Leipzig and I’m still developing and that’s an important thing.
“But when I feel like I can’t develop anymore, I know it’s time for me to go and move on and just find where I can be pushed outside of my comfort zone.” He then added: “What I want for my career… It all goes back to what I was like as a little kid.
“Success for me looks like getting the best version out of myself. Like, I don’t care about being in the headlines.
“I don’t care about scoring goals. I don’t care about assisting goals, like I want to have an impact on the game, that’s for sure.
“But is my impact going to be scoring and assisting? I don’t know.
“But my impact is going to be f valuable. I know that for sure.”
