Manchester United management are keen to add James Garner to the senior squad next season.

The Telegraph says Garner, currently on-loan with Nottingham Forest, will be ‘given the chance to impress’ the Red Devils’ new manager. United will appoint a new boss in the summer, with Garner expected to be part of the first-team group at least at the start of pre-season.

It is stated that the midfielder has been ‘earmarked’ as a player with the potential to star for the senior team. Having been sent on loan in both of the last two seasons, United are said to be ready to assess him at ‘close quarters’.

Garner may still end up being sent out on the fourth loan spell of his career after starting the summer at United.

But with Paul Pogba out of contract, the Red Devils will be on the search for a new midfielder, a role Garner could certainly fill.
