Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed this morning in a pre-match presser that the team will now be setup in a 4-3-3 formation.
“We have now decided to play in a 4-3-3 like we played against Aston Villa, with one holding six and two eights, with three offensive players.”
This change was evident in the recent draw against Villa, where the team attacks in a 4-3-3 and defend in the familiar 4-2-3-1 which we have become used to seeing United setup.
After this confirmation, the need for a proper DM is now very vital going forward. Whether United sign one in this window is unknown for now, but the formation will be a welcome change contrary to the 4-2-2-2 which the players find a hard time adjusting to.
