Marcus Rashford has admitted he is ’embarrassed’ by Manchester United’s 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday and wants the players to ‘redeem’ themselves.
It’s been a difficult week for United that started when they were demolished by their bitter rivals at Old Trafford in a feckless and gutless display.
Naby Keita gave Liverpool the lead after just five minutes and things didn’t get better from there, as Diogo Jota and a Mohamed Salah double meant United were 4-0 down at the break.
Things would get even worse in the second half as Salah completed his hat-trick a few minutes in and then Paul Pogba was dismissed for a late challenge just 15 minutes after being brought on.
Rashford has promised that the players are working hard to fix their problems after speaking for the first time since the defeat.
“I can’t lie you haven’t heard from me on here because as a United fan I didn’t really know what to say after Sunday,” he Tweeted.

“I was embarrassed. I am embarrassed. Our fans are everything and you didn’t deserve that. We’re working hard to try and fix this. We have to redeem ourselves.”
