The exciting young winger unfortunately saw a summer loan move to Dutch side Feyenoord fall through at the last minute after he suffered a thigh injury during training.
Amad is ‘getting closer to full fitness’ following his thigh injury, Manchester United have confirmed.
The Ivorian winger had a summer loan move to Dutch side Feyenoord lined up to help him gain valuable first-team experience this season, but the deal fell through at the last minute after he suffered a thigh muscle injury in training.
Last week, Amad was pictured wearing United training gear and he was spotted undergoing light training, and the club have now said he is nearing full fitness.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer previously provided an injury update on Marcus Rashford and Amad to give an idea of when the pair could be set to return.
In an updated statement on the club website on Tuesday, October 5, the club said: “Both [Amad and Rashford] will hope to show they are capable of returning when things resume for United after the international break, with the Leicester City match at the King Power next on the agenda on October 16.”
Amad has only started twice for United since he joined the club in January and missed the entirety of pre-season as he elected to represent the Ivory Coast at the Olympics in Tokyo.
