Jesse Lingard’s form off the bench has proved crucial for Manchester United so far this season.
He came on and scored a late winner against West Ham, and set up Ronaldo’s injury-time strike against Villarreal on Wednesday.
It’s unlikely the 28-year-old will force his way into United’s star-studded attack, however, he is certainly proving his worth when coming on in games and if anyone knows the importance of substitutes it’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The United boss effectively made a career out of coming off the bench when he was needed by Sir Alex Ferguson to swing a tight contest in United’s favour, perhaps Lingard can continue to fulfil this role for the team.
