Sir Alex Ferguson has ‘told’ Manchester United to sign Peterborough’s Ronnie Edwards.
That’s according to The Express who report Ferguson has told the Reds’ football director John Murtough to sign Edwards after the defender ‘caught the eye’ of the legendary former United boss – Edwards has played four games in the Championship this term.
Edwards, 18, plays at centre-back for Peterborough and is said to be attracting interest from Tottenham and Brentford, too, with the report claiming that both of those Premier League sides are ‘keen’ on signing the youngster.
Peterborough’s manager, Darren Ferguson, is Ferguson’s son, which explains where the transfer rumour has emerged from.
Edwards is a product of conference side Barnet’s academy and he made the switch to Peterborough in August 2020.
