Bruno Fernandes has given his verdict on Manchester United’s acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo after the Portuguese legend made a Transfer Deadline Day move back to Old Trafford.
For many, the re-signing of Ronaldo is a statement of intent by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is looking for an elusive 21st Premier League title.
The Red Devils last won the top flight in 2013 under then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
And while United’s search for Premier League glory has faltered, Ronaldo has won title after title.
The 36-year-old returns a four-time Champions League winner as well as winning both La Liga and Serie A twice.
After 12 years away from the northwest of England, Ronaldo’s quest for titles is still as strong as ever.
And Portugal teammate Bruno Fernandes believes the £12.5 million signing from Juventus will give the club a huge lift.
“We know the enthusiasm will be red hot, everyone knows Cristiano is in the house,” said Fernandes, whilst away on international duty.
“Everyone is very confident and happy that he is back, the players too.
