Ronaldo’s return has boosted the mood around Old Trafford and Pogba, in the final year of his Manchester United contract, will be particularly pleased with the homecoming transfer.
Ronaldo has returned to Old Trafford from Juventus just like Pogba did five years ago, and the pair will play on the same side for the first time in their careers.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s recent return will please the Red Devils midfielder, who has been keen to compete with the biggest honours in world football and is keeping his options open during the final year of his United contract.
During the ongoing International break, the Frenchman told Telefoot, via Get Football News France:
“It’s always a pleasure to play with the best, it’s a plus for the players to be able to train with a great player. He’s going to raise the level of the team.”
The 28-year-old also said on Sky Sports before the deal was finalised: “Everybody knows [what he brings].
“He’s already a legend in this club and he’s coming back, so obviously it’s huge for us, for the club,” Pogba explained as he detailed exactly what Ronaldo, despite being 36, offers.
“He’s going to bring his experience, his quality and obviously when he comes the level [of the team] goes up.
