Manchester United’s hope of signing Eduardo Camavinga this summer appear to be dwindling after a report on Friday claimed he is doubtful of leaving Rennes this summer.
The Red Devils are known to be in the market for a new defensive midfielder to put pressure on Fred and Scott McTominay. They have been linked with Camavinga for some time now.
United’s link seems to be the strongest, with doubts over Paul Pogba’s future at Old Trafford. However, it emerged last month that the youngster favours a move to Spain.
That put the brakes on United’s hopes of luring the France international to the Theatre of Dreams. But on Friday, Football Insider reported that the player’s agent would like to ‘bring him to Manchester United’.
It was also mentioned that the Angola-born ace has his sights set on PSG. Football Insider are now carrying a report that says ‘at the moment, it’s unlikely’ that Camavinga will leave Rennes during the current transfer window.
There seems a great deal of confusion over Camavinga’s future. But one thing that is for certain is he will fall out of contract next summer.
That means a potential exit for nothing; a scenario his current employers will not want to happen. It may be just brinkmanship from Rennes as they look for the best deal possible for the teenager
