Manchester United will get a deal for Kieran Trippier ‘done’, it has been speculated. The Atletico star is on the Red Devils’ radar as the close of the transfer window creeps closer. And a move to Old Trafford, it seems, is still on the cards.
Eurosport’s Dean Jones believes United will ‘get the deal done.
Furthermore, he also claims that Trippier thinks he’ll be able to negotiate personal terms and other details with the Red Devils once Atletico finds a replacement.
“I honestly think this deal will be done,” he said.
“Trippier is confident that Atletico Madrid is working on finding a replacement for him and as soon as they are far enough down the road that that’s been clinched he should be able to negotiate with United.
“So it’s just about patience really, it was never a priority for United to get this deal done.”
Trippier is a bonus signing for United. They’re admirers of the Atletico Madrid star for his versatility, with the 30-year-old capable of playing on both sides of the defence.
They also rate his experience, with the former Tottenham and Burnley star performing at the highest level for club and country over the past two years.
And United believe the arrival of Trippier can galvanise Aaron Wan-Bissaka, too. The former Crystal Palace star’s defensive talents are unquestionable but, going forward, he still has much to learn.
And all signs point to United landing Trippier, making him their fourth summer signing in the process.
