Manchester United have already signed a goalkeeper, are set to complete the signing of a winger, are in advanced talks to sign Varane, and are strongly linked with a right-back in Trippier.
In truth, the club has established itself well in the market and the targets primarily represent areas Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have specified as shortcomings in the season in which they finished second.
On top of that, some reports have alleged that the club is also looking to sign a midfielder this summer. A definitive move may hinge on the futures of Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek but according to transfer insider Dean Jones, Manchester United are inquisitive in Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.
Arsenal is also cited as a possible fate for Neves but Jones makes a case for Solskjaer’s side as they still pose a hazard to Mikel Arteta’s pursuit of the Portugal international.
Jones, who spoke on The Done Deal Show, went as far as to claim that United’s pursuit is ‘genuine’ and that Bruno Fernandes is ‘very keen’ on Neves potentially joining him at the Theatre of Dreams, something the club is said to be conscious of.
